In partnership with Clinch Mountain Communications, Fruitful Design has begun it's first real web project: an interactive e-learning website for a division of NOAA! The site will feature flash games, quizzes, and loveable, interactive characters. Pretty much everything fun...
Lisa Eller (an old co-worker of mine at the Hawaii Coral Reef Initiative) contacted me about designing an e-learning website for NOAA, back in October. The Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands Coral Reef Initiative (CNMI-CRI) wanted a site to teach kids about monitoring coral reefs, in a fun and engaging way.
Immediately I got a hold of Ken Griffith from Clinch Mountain Communications. Ken is a web programmer that has helped me with both fruitful-design.com and benlueders.com. He was eager to place a bid on the project.
In addition to Ken, I contacted my brother Abram Lueders who also has worked with me for the Hawaii Coral Reef Initiative. Abe is an expert at flash animation, so I knew his skills would come in handy.
After designing a beautiful and detailed proposal- we waited. CNMI-CRI looked at several different bids. At the end of the day, however, we were selected for the project! It was still several months before everything could be approved, and we received our deposit (a normal processing time when working with a government organization). And so- in March 2011, we embarked on this grand adventure...
Right now I am in the process of designing all of the illustrative/graphic elements- as well as laying out the plans for the entire site. Here's a sneak peak into the process:
We'll keep you posted on future updates!
